YOUR HELP IS NEEDED TO PROTECT SENIOR SERVICES!
STATE LEGISLATORS HAVE PROPOSED CUTS TO SENIOR SERVICES SUCH AS HOME DELIVERED MEALS BY AS MUCH AS 90%!
Senior Services are the Key to Independence
Please consider calling or writing a letter TODAY to your Michigan legislators. Tell them how critical services such as Home Delivered Meals are and that these services must not be cut.
Send Them A Key

Write in your letter about what home delivered meals mean to you and how they help keep seniors living independently. Include a key with your letter. Everyone has an old key around their home that is no longer used. The key will visually remind legislators to:

County Wide Food Drive
collect food for the Senior Pantry
on Saturday, October 10, 2009
With the help of our volunteers the Senior Meals Program's Senior Pantry brought in over 19 TONS of food last year.
We depend on the County Wide food Drive to help fill our shelves, and need volunteers throughout the day to drive short routes to pick up food, and also to sort and box food.
If you can give us a few hours, or woud like more information on other ways to assist,
please call Tammy Mick at 616-459-3111, or email tmick@seniormealsonwheels.org.
We hope you will be able to join us October 11, and look forward to hearing from you soon!

Help our Food Pantry "Go Green"
Did you know we use over 10 cases, or 10,000 plastic bags per month at our food pantry! These bags cost $20.68 cents per case, which adds up to over $2481.00 per year just for bags. Not to mention how much all of us spend each year on disposing of these plastic bags that are harmful to the environment.
We would like to offer our clients an earth friendly, re-usable, burlap bag to put their pantry products in rather than add to the landfills with the use of plastic bags. Imagine how much money we could save over the course of a few years.
At this time we are looking for sponsors for the "Go Green" campaign at our food pantry. For a donation of $500 we will print your name or company logo on the 5000+ burlap bags we intend to supply at our food pantry. These bags will be reused for many times over.
Please help make our small part of the planet greener.
You may donate now on-line, or simply mail a check to;
